Luc Lecavalier graduated from the Université du Québec à Montréal (Québec, Canada) in 2001 with a Ph.D. in Psychology. He then completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. His Bachelors (Psychology) was from the University of Ottawa (Ontario, Canada).

Dr. Lecavalier has taught at undergraduate and graduate levels and served on a number of thesis and dissertation committees. He is Associate Editor of Autism: International Journal of Research and Practice and is a member of several Editorial Boards including the Journal of Autism and Developmental Disorders. He is Director of the Child Unit of Behavior Support Services at the Nisonger Center.
