Beth Heuer, DNP, CRNP, CPNP-PC, PMHS, FAANP is a board-certified pediatric nurse practitioner (PNP) and pediatric primary care mental health specialist. During her 24+ years as a PNP, she has practiced in the areas of pediatric neurology, developmental/behavioral pediatrics, integrated mental health, lysosomal storage disorders, and mitochondrial medicine. She is a clinical professor and specialty program director for the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner programs at the College of Nursing at The Ohio State University. Dr. Heuer obtained her bachelor’s degree of science in nursing from the University of Pittsburgh in 1988, a master’s degree in nursing from the University of Pittsburgh in 2002, and her doctoral degree (DNP) from Robert Morris University in 2014. She has presented nationally and published in multiple peer-reviewed journals on topics related to clinical care and academic and professional issues. She is on the Editorial Boards of the Journal of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (JAANP) and the Journal of Pediatric Health Care (JPHC). She is co-editor of the JAANP ‘Unraveling the Genome’ column and section editor for the JPHC behavioral-mental health department.
