Nisonger Center ECE/EI Program Playground

corp20150234-01_nisonger_50th_anniversary_logo-finalAn accessible, universally designed and inclusive playground contributes to Nisonger Center’s goal of maintaining our ECE program as a nationally recognized and respected Early Intervention and Early Childhood Education program and enhances our ability to be known around the world as a state of the art facility providing the best quality services.  Most importantly, it provides children with and without disabilities who attend our ECE program an environment in which they can engage together in cooperative play while increasing their fine and gross motor, cognitive, social and adaptive skills; increasing parallelism between the educational activities developed inside and outside the classroom.

A special thanks to The Columbus Foundation, the Columbus/Central Ohio Building Tradesmen, and all our donors and volunteers who made this playground possible!

On April 21, 2016 many leaders, local politicians, donors, volunteers, faculty, staff, family and friends joined us as we celebrated our new, universally accessible playground!  A special thank you to those in attendance who helped us cut the ribbon including Representative David Leland, Ohio House 22nd District; Representative Kristin Boggs, Ohio House 18th District; Kevin Miller, Executive Director of Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities; Teresa Kobelt, Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities; Jed Morison, Superintendent/CEO, Franklin County Board of Developmental Disabilities; Emily Savors, Director of Grants Management, The Columbus Foundation; and Dorsey Hager, Columbus/Central Ohio Building and Construction Trades.

If you weren’t able to join us, we missed you!
THANK YOU also to everyone behind the scenes that helped make this event successful!
