Welcome to the B-HIP Web Page!
What is B-HIP?
The Be Healthy Information Program (B-HIP) is an informational program designed for children and adults with disabilities. B-HIP, developed through a collaborative effort between the University of South Florida and the Ohio State University Nisonger Center, is intended to help children and adults with disabilities understand the relationship between living a healthy lifestyle, feeling good, and staying healthy.
The program consists of a series of six colorful brochures available in English and Spanish:
- Nutrition: MyPlate and Living Healthy
- Physical Activity: Getting Fit for Life
- Sleep Matters: How to Help Your Kids Sleep
- For the Mouth of Babes: The Importance of Early Oral Hygiene
- Mouth Matters: Oral Health for People with Disabilities
- Abuse, Neglect, & Exploitation: How to Protect Yourself
These brochures are designed to stimulate thought, encourage discussion, and provide essential information to help people with disabilities live safe and healthy lives within the community.
