Featured Presenter:
Dr. Katie Walton is an Assistant Professor in the Departments of Psychology and Psychiatry. Her research is focused on early social communication development and intervention in young children with autism spectrum disorder. In addition to her research in early intervention, Dr. Walton also oversees an inclusive early learning program providing both early intervention and child care services to young children with and without developmental disabilities. In this talk, Dr. Walton will be discussing a new project in which she will use a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods to develop a new tool for measuring social communication outcomes in young children with autism spectrum disorder.
