The Nisonger Center at OSU A University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities

Position Description

Director, The Nisonger Center at The Ohio State University

The Ohio State University is seeking applicants for the position of Director of The Nisonger Center, which is a University Center of Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDD). This interdisciplinary program focuses on intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). The Center maintains high quality training programs, provides clinical services, develops innovative service programs, conducts a broad program of research, and provides consultation and technical assistance to governmental and community agencies.  An infrastructure grant from the United States Administration on Developmental Disabilities (ADD) has just been renewed for 5 years and the Center has a LEND grant from the Maternal and Child Health, Bureau of the Health Resources and Services Administration. Funding is diversified, with strong community support and collaboration. Located on the main OSU campus in Columbus, the Center’s faculty come from various colleges and departments located nearby, including medicine, education, dentistry, psychology, and social work.

The successful candidate should have a demonstrated record of accomplishment in education, service and scholarship in the field of IDD.  Previous leadership experience within an interdisciplinary teaching and multidimensional program is essential, and previous experience within a UCEDD is highly desirable.  The successful candidate must hold a doctoral or terminal degree and have a record of accomplishment to support an academic appointment at the rank of tenured professor.  The Director will be responsible for the overall programmatic quality and financial management and will provide leadership for innovation, strategic growth and expansion of the programs within the Center, and its collaborations outside.

The Director of the Nisonger Center reports administratively to the Senior Vice President for Health Sciences.  The Ohio State University is an equal opportunity employer.  Women, underrepresented minorities, and candidates with disabilities are particularly encouraged to apply.  Candidates should send their curriculum vitae and statement of interest to the chair of the search committee at the address below:
