TOPS Volunteer Information
Are you a current OSU student who is interested in service learning while earning additional credit hours? If so, TOPS has a perfect opportunity for you!
The TOPS service learning/internship opportunity is offered through the Disability Studies 5191: Disabilities Internship course. Interns will serve in one or more of the following capacities:
- Educational Coach, whose responsibilities include providing academic support to TOPS students, encouraging the students to actively participate in class, and assisting in social skills instruction when needed.
- Tutor, who works in the TOPS Tutoring Center and provide academic support to TOPS students.
- Social Coach, who provides support in TOPS social activities
- Mentor, whose responsibilities include supporting TOPS students in acquiring skills needed to be successful in college and in life, as well as participating in recreation and leisure activities with the TOPS students.
